In this project we are going to show you how to make an arduino based solar tracker using ldr servo motor.
Solar tracker using dc motor.
Light dependent resistors ldr1 through ldr4 are used as sensors to detect the panel s position.
In the loop we read the values received from our 2 sensors and adjust the solar panel based on these values.
In the setup function we set the pins were the ldr are connected as inputs and position the servo motor at 90 then wait for a 2 seconds before the code execution inside the loop.
For example with a motor integral canopen network interface up to 127 bldc motors can be daisy chain controlled over a 500 m 1 640 ft long bus running at 125 kbd 5 km at lower baud rate using simple inexpensive yet robust twisted pair cabling with a shield.
We have designed a single axis solar tracking system.
And a micro servo motor sg90 to control the solar tracker according to the horizontal axis which is the up down servomotor.
Photovoltaic powers the solar tracker no external source needed.
Dual axis solar tracker with online energy monitor.
This project was one of my final projects i did on my exchange studies in finland for this project i worked together with fatbardh this is a much larger and more advanced version of one of my first projects ever also a solar tracker.
The solar panel tracker is designed to follow the sun movement so that maximum light intensity hits on the solar panel thus increasing the power efficiency.
Solar tracking system circuit fig.
To track the sun i used four ldc sensors and arduino compares the data from them to rotate the panel in the direction with the most sunlight using two dc motors one for each axis and motor driver.
The advantage of the servomotor is that we can control its stop run the direction of rotation and speed using a single low current wire connected directly to an output of the microcontroller without needing any drivers.
Each motor can then close current position and velocity loops on its own.
1 shows the circuit of the solar tracking system.
Circuit of solar tracking system.
However conventional dc motor drivers used in solar tracking system do not provide.
In this article we are going to make a sun tracking solar panel using arduino in which we will use two ldrs light dependent resistor to sense the light and a servo motor to automatically rotate the solar panel in the direction of the sun light advantage of this project is that solar panel will always follow the sun light will always face towards the sun to get charge all the time and can.
