Spray the wd 40 into the lock. Press down on the button on the rear of the wd 40 canister to begin releasing the lubricant into the lock. Squirt a small amount of the graphite lubricant into the car door locks and trunk locks to ensure they keep working smoothly. You also should use this spray on the front and rear door hinges.

3 in one lock dry lube dries clear to the touch within minutes and is safe to use on metal wood and most plastic surfaces. Use the wd 40 for latches and hinges on the glove box and gas tank cover. Keep in mind that wd 40 will attract dust particles and eventually gum up your lock. It should only be used as a short term solution.

Remove the screws holding the lock to the door. Unscrew the two screws. Easily reach into narrow lock mechanism with the attachable straw or use the wider spray pattern to refurbish and protect the entire lock. Hold down the spray button until the wd 40 begins to overflow from the lock opening.

Spray the lubricant into the keyhole itself and then spray it on the key. If this superficial cleaning doesn t free the lock eliminate the aggravation altogether. Insert your key into the keyhole and open and close the lock in order to work the wd 40 into the deadbolt. See below for taking apart your door lock and getting it to work like new.

How to use the lubricants on car locks and hinges. Wd 40 is a great lubricant but any type of liquid lubricant in your door lock will eventually attract dirt and therefore will gum up the lock.
